ALLERGIES: What's Cookin' Good Lookin'?

Easy way to cook bacon!
That seems to be the question of the day, about three times a day to be exact.  At breakfast my little allergy guy comes into the kitchen with his nose in the air sniffing "Mama, what's that smell? Is that bacon?" For those of you who have seen that Beggin Strips commercial with the dogs running through the house saying "I smell BACON...bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon!"

ALLERGIES: Leaving Your Child with a Sitter

Going out on a date! WOO HOO!
Our sitter, my nephew's girlfriend, is growing up.  She got herself a full-time job.  Do you know what that means?  Yup, we have to start training a new sitter.  :(

ALLERGIES: First Day of School!!!

First day of preschool 2011

He did it.  Really and truly he did.  He survived his first week of preschool!  Who am I kidding?  Okay, okay I survived his first week of preschool.  I think this school, including the wonderful teachers, just happened to fall right into our lap.  It was meant to be.  I could not ask for a better place for our son with allergies to test the waters on his own.  It's moments like this that make me sit back and appreciate our lives.  We are so very fortunate. Today is a half-full kind of day. :)

ALLERGIES: Anticipating First Day Of Preschool

So it's finally here.  The day before the day I bring our son with allergies to preschool and put my trust into people to keep my child safe.  Kind of scarey.  I've been purposely NOT thinking about it.  I don't want to make myself sick with anxiety about all the 'what if's' that could happen.  (insert deep breath here)  So I think what I've been doing is instead busying myself in other places and things and just pushing all of those thoughts out.  You know what's gonna happen don't you?  All of those feelings

PET ALLERGIES: Not Just Food Allergies

Vision - The Furry Cousin
Like having nine food allergies isn't enough our son's allergy to dogs is off the charts!  His allergy to dogs causes hives and heavy congestion, watery eyes, and sneezing which lasts for days.

You may at first think that it's no big deal.  So what...get rid of your dog right?  Wrong! I want you to take a minute and think about all the people that are important to you in your life...maybe even make a list. (I'm notorious for my lists) Now cross off anyone on that list that has a cat or dog.  How many are you left with?  Exactly!
