Vegan Sorbet Cakie Sandwiches

I made some super easy cookies using cake mix and pie filling last week.  Did you see it?  I called them Cakies and they're soft, spongy cookies that are absolutely perfect for this new recipe because they freeze perfectly.  Cakies create the absolutely perfect texture to use for frozen Vegan Sorbet Cakie Sandwiches.  They don't crumble and fall apart.  They don't break your tooth with hardness.  Instead they create a frozen pillow of cookie cakeness (is that even a word?) perfect for holding your favorite frozen treat.

Vegan Sorbet Cakie Sandwiches are easy to make and stay fresh in your freezer for a last minute snack!

Creamy Fish Chowder, #dairyfree #glutenfree

My family loves chowder.  Maybe it's because we're from New England?  Not really sure, but I finally decided to make an allergy-friendly fish chowder so that my youngest son could try it for the first time.  It needed to be dairy free, gluten free, soy free, wheat free, nut free, and garlic free (phew) for us all to enjoy it.  I think it turned out pretty darn good and judging by the empty bowls on the table the rest of my family did too!

Tasty's Vegan Shepherd's Pie Made Top 8 Free, Gluten Free and not so vegan

I'm sure you've all seen those awesome recipe videos by Tasty by now, right?  I saw the video below and just HAD to try it out...with substitutions of course!  I's gotta be free of dairy, egg, nuts, and garlic to be safe for my little man (it's actually top 8 free and gluten free now) AND I added ground turkey.  I know, I know...I'm sure it's against some sort of vegan law to add animal products to a vegan recipe, but my son needs the protein! So sorry.  :(  Forgive me?

PlantFusion Protein

I'm a huge fan of protein powder.  I add it to my son's shake in the mornings.  Why?  Because he's on a restricted diet due to food allergies and he's picky about eating meat, which means I need to sneak protein in wherever I can.  I'm sure many of you Food Allergy Mamas can relate.

My husband also drinks protein shakes daily.  He's on an exercise routine that benefits from the added protein in his diet.  So for all of you New Year's resolution people who have been hitting the gym lately, keep on reading...

Ooey Gooey Chocolate Cookies, Vegan and Gluten Free

Believe it or not these cookies aren't just vegan and gluten free, but they're also nut free (they do contain coconut, which no one but the FDA considers a tree nut) and soy free too!  That doesn't mean they skimp on the taste though.  They're gooey, chocolatey (is that even a word?) cookies that are easy to make and will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.
